Knight Will Miss Senior Season at Alabama

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - Senior linebacker Zeke Knight has been
medically disqualified. He will not play in what would have been his final season for Alabama this fall.

Head football coach Nick Saban said because of privacy laws he could not give details concerning Knight's medical condition. Saban said a number of physicians had examined Knight and concluded it was in his best interest to no longer play football.

Knight played in all 13 games last season and started 11 at outside linebacker. He was sixth on the 2007 team with 64 tackles and intercepted two passes. He had 11 tackles for losses and three sacks.

Saban said Knight is on track to graduate from the university in August.
