Hendrix, White and Sharpe selected in NBA Draft

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Former Alabama forward Richard Hendrix, who opted to skip his senior season for a chance to play pro basketball, was picked in Thursday night's NBA draft.

The All-Southeastern Conference player from Decatur was drafted in the second round by the Golden State Warriors. Hendrix was the Crimson Tide's leading scorer and rebounder last season.

Other Alabamians drafted included former UAB forward Walter Sharpe. He was Seattle's second round choice, but he was traded to Detroit.

Tuscaloosa native and ex-Indiana standout D.J. White was taken in round one by Detroit, but he was sent to Seattle.
