MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Steve Crotz is moving from women's basketball coach at Auburn University Montgomery to athletic director.

AUM Chancellor John Veres announced the appointment Thursday. The job is nothing new to Crotz because he has served as interim athletic director twice. Veres praised Crotz's fundraising ability while filling in as athletic director.

Crotz compiled a record of 284-116 in 12 seasons as the women's basketball coach. His teams won four regular season conference championships and two conference tournament titles and advanced to the NAIA national tournament nine times. Crotz was named conference
or region coach of the year 10 times.

Veres said AUM will soon name a committee to search for a new women's basketball coach.
