Texas Tech receivers L-A- Reed and Marquis Johnson have been suspended from the squad for unspecified reasons. Coach Mike Leach says they won't play in the Cotton Bowl.
Leach said that the two won't participate in practices or the January second game against Alabama (9-2). He said he'll revisit their future with the Red Raiders (9-2) next month. He declined to provide any further information on the suspensions.
Reed, a redshirt freshman, caught eleven passes for 136 yards this season. Johnson, a junior, had 13 catches for 74 yards and a touchdown.
