LSU assistant headed to UCF

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - LSU assistant baseball coach Terry Rooney will be heading to the University of Central Florida after the Tiger's College World Series appearance.

This will be the first head coaching job for Rooney, who has 12 years of experience as an assistant coach at the Division I level, LSU said in a statement released Thursday.

Before coaching at LSU, Rooney was the pitching coach at Notre Dame for three years.
