Tide Baseball Gets Bid to NCAA Regional

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - Alabama's baseball team has received an at-large invitation to an NCAA Tournament regional.

The Tide received the invitation to the Conway regional, near Myrtle Beach, S.C., Monday morning. Alabama is the No. 3 seed in that regional and will play No. 2 seed East Carolina in the first game.

Host Coastal Carolina is the top seed in the regional and will face No. 4 seed Columbia in the other first-round game.

Alabama is one of nine Southeastern Conference teams to make the 2008 NCAA Regionals. Miami is the No. 1 national seed. LSU is a No. 7 national seed and Georgia is a No. 8 national seed.
