WASHINGTON (AP) - Auburn's Tommy Tuberville was among five NCAA head coaches who met with President Bush today after recently
returning from a week-long visit to military bases in the Middle
East.
The coaches, who made the trip to boost troop morale, coached a flag football game on one base.
Joining Tuberville on the tour of military bases were: Mark Richt from the University of Georgia; Randy Shannon, University of Miami; Jack Siedlecki, Yale University; and Charlie Weis, University of Notre Dame.
The coaches visited military personnel in Germany, Qatar, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, and aboard the USS Nassau on a trip coordinated by the Defense Department.
The president met with the coaches after giving a Memorial Day speech to military figures, veterans and their families at Arlington National Cemetery in Virginia.
