LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) - Josh Vander Hey's two-out home run in the top of the 10th inning snapped a 6-6 tie and gave New Orleans a 7-6 victory over Troy when a suspended Sun Belt Conference tournament game resumed Friday.
The game was suspended from yesterday afternoon due to heavy rains and flooding, and was resumed this morning in the bottom of the ninth inning with Troy having the bases loaded and one out in a 6-6 game.
UNO reliever Ryan O'Shea struck out Bryan Miller. Beau Brooks popped out to put the game into extra innings.
In the top of the 10th, Troy reliever Josh Storm (2-2) retired the first two batters before Vander Hey hit an 0-1 pitch over the right-field wall.
O'Shea (3-2) gave up a leadoff hit in the bottom of the 10th before recording three outs to pick up the win in relief.
