TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - Alabama is riding a hot offense into the Southeastern Conference tournament.

The Crimson Tide has needed all the runs it can get. 'Bama beat Georgia twice last weekend despite allowing 13 runs in each game.

The fifth-seeded Tide (32-24) opens up against fourth-seeded Kentucky Wednesday at Regions Park in Hoover.

The Wildcats are the only SEC team with a higher batting average than Alabama.

Tide coach Jim Wells says starting pitcher Miers Quigley could miss at least the first two games with back problems.
