ATHENS, Ga. (AP) - Ryan Peisel scored the game-winning run off an error in the ninth inning to lift Georgia to a 5-4 win over Alabama on Friday night in the second game of a doubleheader.
Earlier, the Crimson Tide won the opener 17-13 as Ross Wilson and Alex Avila each drove in five runs and Jake Smith added two home runs. Miers Quigley (5-4) allowed six runs, five hits and six walks in five innings for Alabama.
In the second game, the Crimson Tide (31-24, 15-14 Southeastern Conference) took a 4-3 lead in the seventh on Wilson's two-run homer. But the Bulldogs (35-18-1, 20-8-1) tied the game in same inning on Bryce Massanari's solo home run, then won the contest when Peisel scored off an error.
Joshua Fields (2-1) was the winning pitcher for Georgia. Massanari also had a three-run homer in the first game for the Bulldogs.
Will Stroup (5-3) gave up one run, two hits and two walks in two innings for Alabama.
