ATLANTA (AP) - The Atlanta Braves boosted their bench Monday by acquiring first baseman-outfielder Greg Norton from Seattle and placed infielder Martin Prado on the disabled list.
The Mariners, who designated Norton for assignment on April 30th, will receive a player to be named later or cash considerations from the Braves.
The 35-year-old Norton was 7-for-16 (.435) in six games for Seattle this season. He played with Tampa Bay in 2006 and 2007 where he hit .243 last season.
Prado was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a sprained left thumb.
The Braves are off today.
