ORLANDO - Jurors have found former Orlando Magic television color analyst Jack "Goose" Givens not guilty of sexually battering a 14-year-old girl he was instructing in basketball.
The 48-year-old Givens was charged last year with two counts of sexual battery, attempted sexual battery and lewd and lascivious molestation. He was found not guilty of all charges on Friday. The allegations against him were made after he went to the teen's home to coach her in basketball. She claimed Givens tried to force her to perform oral sex. Givens' attorney said he was a goodhearted coach who volunteered to help the teen. The attorney said in closing arguments that the girl made false allegations, and compared the prosecution to a witch hunt.
Prosecutors said a physical exam showed injuries to the girl. Prosecutors said Givens sent her electronic messages of apology.
