BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Southeastern Conference football teams will face 13 nonconference opponents in the upcoming season who played in bowl games.
The SEC released the league's 2008 schedule yesterday (Tuesday).
The league's first games come Thursday, August 28 with South Carolina hosting North Carolina State and Vanderbilt traveling to Miami of Ohio.
The opening weekend concludes on Monday night with Tennessee visiting UCLA.
Five of the league's nonconference opponents finished last season ranked in the Top 25.
Auburn visits West Virginia, which finished the season ranked sixth nationally. Alabama plays Clemson Aug. 30 in Atlanta. Clemson finished the season at No. 21.
