Auburn beats Miss. Valley St.

AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - Hunter Morris hit a two-run homer and Ben Jones had two RBI singles to help Auburn beat Mississippi Valley State 10-2.

Hogan Barnes had an RBI single in the first inning for the Delta Devils (13-14), but the Tigers went ahead 2-1 on Morris' homer in the bottom of the first. Auburn (22-12) added three more in the second, one on an RBI bunt single by Ben Jones.

Jones had another RBI single in the fourth, and Matt Hall had a sacrifice fly in that inning and a two-run single in the eighth.

Tony Caldwell went 4-for-4 for Auburn with three runs scored.

Derrick Townsend (3-1) took the loss for Mississippi Valley State, allowing seven runs, six earned, in four innings. Cory Luckie (4-3) picked up the win for Auburn. He pitched one inning and gave up one run on three hits.
