ORLANDO (AP) - A Central Florida player has died after offseason conditioning drills on campus.
Ereck Plancher was a redshirt freshman wide receiver from Naples.
University spokesman Joe Hornstein says Plancher was pronounced dead shortly before noon Tuesday at a hospital.
Hornstein says details are still unclear, but Plancher apparently took a knee during conditioning. He became unresponsive and was rushed by
ambulance to the hospital.
The school had been scheduled to begin spring practice tomorrow. Hornstein says it will now be cancelled until further notice.
Plancher, 5-foot-10 and 184 pounds, was a two-time letterman at Lely High School. He majored in business at UCF and was a high school National Honor Society member.
