BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - The Southeastern Conference won't say if
the officiating crew for Saturday's Alabama-Mississippi game in
Oxford might be disciplined for the handling of the game's bizarre
SEC media relations director Charles Bloom said today that the conference would not comment on any actions that might be taken against officials Doug Shows, Antonio Petty and Mike Nance following Saturday's game that ended with 2.5 seconds still showing on the clock.
Bloom said if there was a review, any decision would not be released to the public.
Ole Miss won 91-88 after holding off a Crimson Tide comeback in the final minutes.
The Birmingham News reports in today's editions, citing sources, that the three officials are to appear before a review committee.
