Florida State beats Auburn 10-1, sweeps four-game series

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (AP) - Mike McGee didn't allow a run in seven innings of work as Florida State beat Auburn 10-to-1 yesterday and swept the four-game series.

Florida State took an early 3-0 lead in the first inning. Tyler Holt opened the first with a double to right center and later scored on Buster Posey's single. Jason Stidham and Posey both also scored in the first.

Dennis Guinn hit a solo homer in the sixth and Luke Smierciak and Stidham both finished with two R-B-Is for the Seminoles.

Auburn never threatened. The Tigers' lone run came in the eighth inning, when David Cunningham drove in Justin Hargett with a single to right field.

McGee struck out five batters in his seven innings. Austin Hubbard took the loss for Auburn.
