TROY, Ala. (AP) - Paul Graham the Third scored 27 points and Carderro Nwoji added 19 to lead Florida Atlantic to a 99-93 win over Troy last night.
Florida Atlantic (14-16, 8-9 Sun Belt Conference) took a 73-56 lead - their largest of the game - with 6:10 left in the second half on a 3-pointer by Nwoji. He also had seven rebounds and four assists.
The Trojans (11-17, 4-13) responded by outscoring Florida Atlanta over the next four minutes, cutting to nine points. O'Darien Bassett scored 13 points for Troy during a 17-9 run to trim the margin to 96-93 with 14 seconds left in the game.
But Troy would come no closer, as Florida Atlantic made its free throws to put the game away.
Jeff Palmer scored 12 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for Florida Atlantic. Carlos Monroe had 10 points and 10 rebounds, while Xavier Perkins scored 13.
Bassett, who shot 5-of-11 from beyond the arc, scored 42 points for Troy. Jerome Odem had 18 points and Justin Jonus added 13.
