TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - Alabama linebacker Ezekial Knight was treated and released from DCH Regional Medical Center for an undisclosed medical condition.

Football spokesman Jeff Purinton said in a statement today Knight went to the hospital after a workout yesterday and was still undergoing tests.

Purinton said he couldn't go into details, citing student privacy laws and respect for Knight and his family.

But, he added, team doctors, training staff and coaches are --quote-- "aware of the situation."

Knight, a converted receiver, underwent surgery in February 2007 for a heart murmur. He was back on the practice field in April.

He started 11 games last season and played in all 13 games, making 64 tackles, three sacks and two interceptions.
