TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - Alabama coach Mark Gottfried doesn't want his team becoming fixated on what's potentially at stake when Auburn visits Saturday.
The Crimson Tide (11-8, 0-4 SEC) has dropped its first four Southeastern Conference games, lost both meetings with the Tigers
last season and hasn't started 0-5 in the league in 20 years.
Gottfried has been taking considerable heat from fans for the poor start. With no midweek game, Gottfried had his players take plenty of extra shooting in practice this week. The Tide has made just 5-of-34 3-pointers in its past two games.
Auburn (12-5, 2-2) has headed in a more positive direction lately. The Tigers have won three straight games and haven't had a four-game win streak after New Year's Day since 2003.
Auburn is trying to win back-to-back games in Tuscaloosa for only the second time. The Tigers did it in 1969-71.
Its a 2p.m. tipoff at Coleman Coliseum.
