AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - Auburn backup quarterback Blake Field is planning to transfer to another school. That's according to an e-mail sent Sunday night to the Opelika-Auburn News by his father, Warren Field.
He said his son has asked Auburn to release him from his scholarship.
Blake Field, a fifth-year senior from Cairo, Georgia, reportedly wants to transfer to Division II national champion Valdosta State in hopes of getting more playing time.
Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville was unavailable for comment because he is attending a coaching convention in California.
