CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Former Auburn football coach Terry Bowden is letting it be known that he's interested in the West Virginia job.
The 52-year-old Bowden has been out of coaching since he quit at Auburn during the 1998 season.
But Bowden has released a statement through his publicist calling West Virginia a "dream job" for Bowden.
Bowden grew up in Morgantown, West Virginia. And he's been looking to get back into coaching for a couple of years.
West Virginia coach Rich Rodriguez is headed to Michigan just a year after he turned down the head coaching job at Alabama.
