Troy 83, Shorter 72

TROY, Ala. (AP) - Michael Vogler had 11 points and six assists to help lead Troy to an 83-72 victory over Shorter Tuesday night.

Shorter (6-4) scored first and held onto the lead until Troy (3-4) pulled ahead on a 3-pointer by Kenny Ware with 11:30 to go in the first half. The Hawks never pulled ahead again.

The Trojans led 45-33 at the half and led by as many as 19 points in the second half. Shorter had a late rally with a 10-point run late in the second half that whittled Troy's lead to nine points, but it wasn't enough.

In addition to Vogler, four other Trojans scored in the double figures. Justin Jonus, Tom Jervis and Brandon Hazzard had 12 points apiece, and O'Darien Bassett added 11.

Shorter's Kedric Wilson was the game's high scorer and had a double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds. Tomas Pranciliauskas had 19 points and A.J. Martin chipped in with 11.
