Alabama, Auburn Send Players to All-SEC team

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Auburn and Alabama are represented on the 2007 All-Southeastern Conference team. The selections by league coaches were announced Tuesday by the league office in Birmingham.

Auburn defensive lineman Quentin Groves was named to the first team defense while Auburn punter Ryan Shoemaker made the second team All-SEC special teams.

Crimson Tide sophomore Andre Smith is a member of the first team offensive line. Three Alabama players are on the first team defense - lineman Wallace Gilberry along with defensive backs Simeon Castille and Rashad Johnson.

Alabama offensive lineman Antoine Caldwell and wide receiver D.J. Hall were each named to the second team offense.

LSU had a league high 10 players on this year's squad, including seven members on the first tem. Eleven of the 12 SEC schools had a player on the first team All-SEC team.

The Associated Press team will be announced today.
