TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - Wallace Gilberry has been playing catch-up with Mississippi State defensive end Titus Brown this season.
The Tide defensive end has seven sacks, all coming in the last four games. He had three against LSU and two of them came on consecutive plays.
Brown, a Tuscaloosa native, also has seven sacks for a second-place tie among Southeastern Conference players.
The two met during a workout over the summer and began doing drills together daily. Gilberry said that helped get both players ready for the season
Mike Shula's Alabama staff didn't offer Brown a scholarship.
