BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Georgia tailback Knowshon Moreno has been named the Southeastern Conference freshman of the week.
Moreno rushed for a career high 196 yards and three touchdown in UGA's 44-34 win over Troy.
The rushing total brought Moreno to 1,003 yards -- making him only the second Georgia freshman to top 1,000 yards rushing in one season. The other was Herschel Walker.
Arkansas tailback Darren McFadden -- whose 321 rushing yards against South Carolina tied the Southeastern Conference record -- was named league offensive player of the week today.
LSU defensive tackle Glenn Dorsey won defensive player of the week while Alabama return man Javier Arenas claimed special teams honors.
