Saban Says Familiarity with LSU Players Doesn't Help

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - Saban said his familiarity with LSU's players doesn't offer him much of an edge in preparation.

He said players' strengths and weaknesses are pretty obvious when watching tape. Saban, who recruited 17 current LSU starters, said the Tigers don't have many weaknesses.

He said there is a sort of personal respect that comes from knowing someone and knowing their family and that's shat he feels for those players.

This is nothing knew. He said he felt the same way when he was in the NFL and faced players he coached at LSU or Michigan State.
