BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Alabama cornerback Kareem Jackson was named Southeastern Conference freshman of the week.
Jackson, a native of Macon, Georgia, was credited with six tackles (five solos), two interceptions and a tackle for a loss in the Crimson
Tide's 41-17 win against Tennessee.
LSU quarterback Matt Flynn is the SEC's offensive player of the week. Flynn completed 22 of 34 passes for 319 yards and three touchdowns, including the 22-yard game-winner to Demetrius Byrd with 1 second remaining in the Tigers' 30-24 victory against Auburn.
Other SEC award winners this week include Vanderbilt's D.J. Moore (defense) and Brett Upson (special teams), Arkansas' Jonathan Luigs (offensive lineman) and Florida's Jermaine Cunningham
