TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - University of Alabama defensive lineman Brandon Fanney pleaded guilty to a disorderly conduct charge resulting from a July altercation outside a nightclub on the Strip in Tuscaloosa.
District Attorney Tommy Smith said the sophomore pleaded guilty and will pay a $100 fine, The Tuscaloosa News reported on its Web site Wednesday.
Fanney and fellow sophomores running back Roy Upchurch and defensive lineman Brandon Deaderick were involved in the incident.
Smith said Fanney wouldn't face any further retribution for the misdemeanor charge.
The 21-year-old originally pleaded not guilty to the charge on August 22nd.
His court file indicates he was refused entry to the bar on July 14th. An officer wrote in her report that Fanney was denied entry because he didn't follow the dress code.
She wrote that he yelled at officers and tried to help Deaderick as he was being arrested.
