Defending Champs Start Practice

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - Alabama opened fall camp with two
split-squad workouts.
The Crimson Tide's established players worked for two hours
Thursday morning, followed in the evening by the newcomers and some backups. Junior college transfer cornerback DeQuan Menzie
participated in the first practice.
Defensive end Marcell Dareus worked with the first team as usual
while awaiting the outcome of an NCAA investigation into a trip to
Miami.
End Luther Davis says coach Nick Saban's message was the same as
always even after a national title: "Finish strong and fly to the
ball."
Quarterback Greg McElroy wore a helmet camera for 25 minutes or
so for an ESPN special on the team.
