DOTHAN, AL -- Kevin Smith will remember the 18th hole at the Future Masters for a long time. Smith appeared to give away his chance at the 10 & Under title with a disastrous finish on 18, only to rally minutes later for victory on the same hole.
Smith led by two strokes going to the final hole during regulation. But, Smth double bogeyed, falling into a three-way playoff with Liam Shinn and Jake Peacock at +4, 74.
The playoff didn't last long. Smith regrouped, recording a birdie on the first playoff hole, also played at 18, to win the tournament. It was the first playoff in the 10 & Under age group in 10 years.
The Dothan duo of Brantley Scott and Matthew Streitman finished in a tie for 13th place, shooting identical +11, 81s.
