DOTHAN, AL -- Players in the 11-12 year-old age group at the Future Masters were forced to play the waiting game over the past 48 hours. Nearly one third of the field was left on the course when play was halted due to darkness last night.
When play resumed at 6:30 on Monday morning, things came together quickly. Players finished their rounds with a shotgun start, then when right back to work, playing 18 more holes.
When the dust settled, two round were complete, and two players sat atop the leaderboard. Allen Tucker and Mason Nome enter Tuesday's final round in a first place tie with identical scores of -1, 139. 11 more players are within five strokes of the lead heading into the final 18 holes on Tuesday.
A trio of local players are competing in the 11-12 year-old age group. Dothan native Thomas Ponder is in a tie for 18th place with a +7 147. Hal Dove is in a tie for 23rd place, shooting a +9, 149 through two rounds. Dothan's Emmert Lee sits at +17 with a 187.
