(DOTHAN) -- Three local golfers survived the cut in the 15-18 year old age group and will tee off for tomorrow's final round at the Future Masters.
Providence Christian rising-juniors Beau Scott and Calum Masters made the cut. Northview rising-sophomore Chris Owens also made the cut.
Owens led all locals with an opening round 72 in his first round. Today Owens shot 78.
Scott and Masters both shot an opening round 74. Scott shot a 74 on day two. His 10-over was the cutoff score.
Masters shot double-bogeyed 17 and finished five-over for his 2nd round. He is currently nine-over for the tournament.
Masters made the cut for the first time in 3 Future Masters appearances.
Although Masters won't win the blue jacket this go-round, his mindset remains optimistic.
"Just to have fun, I made the cut for the first time so that's good," said Masters.
"It's all about progress. It's a process, so my goal is just to go out there, have fun, make shots and hopefully come up with a low number." he said.
Nick Cortez is atop the leaderboard at six-under par. Cortez followed his opening round 68 with a 2nd round 66.
Cortez is paired with Straughn standout Brooks Rabren, Tanner Owens and Jake Milanowski in the final group.
The final group tees off hole number one at 8:57 a.m. at the Dothan Country Club.
