The Troy Football Team is hoping to make an early impression on one of the top young players in the Wiregrass. Multiple sources report, the Trojans have offered a scholarship to Elba sophomore running back Darrean Burks.
Burks burst onto the scene late in the 2010 season, moving to varsity due to injuries, and scoring seven touchdowns in the Tigers three playoff games. In 2011, he helped Elba roll to a 15-0 record and the Class 2A State Championship.
Along with his duties at running back, Burks is one of the state's top kick and punt returners. Burks former teammate, Michael Lindsey, signed with Troy in February.
