Brandon Burks can't wait to get to Troy and make an impact on the Trojans offense. The Troy coaching staff is eager to see what Burks can bring to the table over the next few years as well.
The Daleville star running back chose Troy over UAB and Arkansas State on National Signing Day. He joins a team that's known more from throwing than running.
But, Troy's top three returning running backs will graduate after the 2012 season, so Burks could have a shot to crack the rotation after just one year on campus.
The Trojans believe Burks has what it takes to break through and be a contributor during his time on campus.
"He's a sharp kid, good background," Troy Head Coach Larry Blakeney said. "He played for a guy that we know a lot about and recommends him highly.
"I think he'll be a guy that will give us some help."
Troy signed three local players, adding Elba's Michael Lindsey and Panama City Arnold's Andre Allen.
