Top Offenses on Display in Class 2A Title Game

The Elba Football Team is the top offensive program in the state this season, in any classification. The Tigers have scored 718 points through 14 games, just 44 points shy of the state record for points in a season.

This Friday, the Tigers may feel like they're looking in a mirror, when the team faces Tanner for the Class 2A State Championship. The Rattlers have scored nearly 47 points per game this season.

So, the Tigers expect to have their hands full with a powerful Tanner squad on Friday.

"They've got a really big back, and the quarterback can run," Elba Head Coach Scott Rials said. "They've got another back that can run and good receivers. They're going to primarily run the football, and mix in a little play action pass. They are very sound offensively."

Elba will face Tanner for the 2A title on Friday at 3:00 p.m. at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa. The game is being carried locally on MyNet, with local listings posted below.
