The Niceville Football Team has been stewing since the end of last season. The Eagles lost in the first round of the playoffs by one point in triple overtime, falling to Pace 42-41.
One year later, Niceville has designs on a deeper run in the playoffs. And, the Eagles have some firepower to back up those plans.
Quarterback Andrew Mitchell returns for his fourth year as the starter, and he has a bevy of weapons at his disposal. He's also got a veteran offensive line, anchored by three-star prospect Nick Haynes.
Head Coach John Hicks believes his team is in solid position to make another run to the post-season in 2012, and make some noise once it gets there.
"We've been to the playoffs 11 straight years, so that's always our goal, to get in the playoffs and be playing our best at the end of the year" Hicks said. "Our non-district schedule might be a little tougher than our district schedule, not that any of them are bad, but it's just, maybe, a little bit tougher."
Niceville Opens the regular season at home, hosting East Gadsden on Friday.
