Jeff Williams Resigns at Geneva

The Geneva Football Team is looking for a new head coach. Jeff Williams has resigned as Panthers Head Coach, ending his five-year run with the program.

Williams had initial success with the Panthers, leading Geneva to the playoffs in 2007 and 2008. But, the team struggled the past three years, including a 2-8 record this season.

Williams said resigning was his decision, and he believes he owes it to the players and the community to give the program it's best chance to be successful.

"I've been here five years, and I have certain expectations," Williams said. "The school and the community has certain expectations, and the last couple of year's we haven't met those expectations. We've come to love this place, and we want what's best for the kids. A change in leadership was what I thought was probably best at this time"

Williams posted a 22-29 record during his five-year tenure at Geneva.
