Former Elba Football star Michael Lindsey has been charged with third degree felony burglary. Lindsey was one of eight Elba students arrested in connection with vandalism committed inside the school on Tuesday.
Lindsey was one of four students over the age of 18, allowing his name to be released. The other students charged including Sage Kelley, Antonio Hill and J'Quentin Truitt. All four were former football players.
The other four students arrested were 17 years old, so their names cannot be released.
Lindsey signed a football scholarship with Troy on February first, just two months after leading the Tigers to the Class 2A State Championship.
WTVY reached Troy Director of Media Relations Adam Prendergast for comment. Prendergast said the school is gathering information, but that it's too early to comment further. He adds the school plans to let the legal process play out before making a decision on Lindsey's future with the program.
