The Elba Football Team will get an experience few programs realize later this week. The Tigers will travel to Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa for the Super Six, and they're not going just to watch from the stands.

Elba will face Tanner for the Class 2A State Championship on Friday at 3:00 p.m. That means playing on the same field where the Alabama Crimson Tide suits up every year, and playing for a state championship.

Elba coaches want their team to enjoy this experience, but they also want their Tigers ready to play against an undefeated Tanner squad.

"It's a great feeling," Elba Head Coach Scott Rials said. "Our coaches are excited, and our fans and parents, and this whole school, we're just so grateful to have this opportunity. Everybody is so enthusiastic.

"We've got a lot of work to do between now and Friday, but we are grateful for the opportunity."

Elba and Tanner will square off at 3:00 p.m. on Friday for the Class 2A State Championship. The game is being carried on MyNet, with local listings posted below.
