The Elba Football Team will play for it's first state championship in nearly 20 years next Friday. The Tigers advanced to the Class 2A State Championship Game with Friday's 49-41 win over American Christian.

Elba will face Tanner for the Class 2A State Title at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa on Friday, December 2nd. Kickoff is set for 3:00 p.m. Tanner earned it's spot in the 2A Championship Game with a 24-14 win over Lineville on Friday.

The Tigers beat the Patriots despite two touchdowns being called back due to penalty. The win also avenged last year's quarterfinal loss to American Christian at home.

Elba hasn't won a state championship in football since 1992, when the Tigers were in Class 3A. Tanner has never won a state championship in football. Both teams are 14-0 this year.
