Chipley Getting Used to Life on the Road

The Chipley Football Team has been the definition of road warriors this post--season. The Tigers will travel to Orlando for the Class 1A State Championship Game on Friday.

This will mark the fourth straight road playoff game for Chipley. The Tigers didn't play at home during this post-season.

The Tigers won games at Blountstown, Holmes County and Northview-Bratt on their way to Friday's showdown with Jefferson County. The team believes it can handle anything after so many big performances on the road this post-season.

"The kids have done a great job and the coaches have done a good job getting them prepared, and just, every week, load up and get ready at gametime to play," Chipley Head Coach Rob Armstrong said. "That's been the key, and it's the same thing this week.

"With two great football teams playing, I think it's going to be whoever handles the extra stuff and the trip and gets themselves ready to go and focuses on what's important that's going to win the game."

Chipley will face Jefferson County for the 1A Championship this Friday at 6:00 p.m. at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando. The Tigers are trying to bring home the first football championship in school history.
