The Chipley Football Team came up one game short of a state championship last season. The Tigers lost to Jefferson County in the Class 1A title game in Orlando.

One year later, there have been plenty of changes in Washington County. Rob Armstrong left as head coach after last season, and Wiregrass coaching veteran Chip Harris stepped in to coach his alma mater.

Many of last year's key players have also moved on, although running back Kobe McCreary is back to anchor the offense. While there have been plenty of changes since the Tigers last took the field, one thing remains the same; Chipley's drive to break through and win the Class 1A State Championship.

"Obviously, they've got a good program here, and we're just trying to build on that success, and build on that frame of mind," Harris said. "We want the same things they wanted, and that's to have the best program we can have, and be in the hunt every year, and that's what we're working towards."

Chipley opens the regular season at home, hosting Vernon on August 31st.
