Charles Henderson LB Richard McBryde Wins 4A Lineman of the Year at State Banquet

MONTGOMERY, AL -- Charles Henderson junior linebacker Richard McBryde is one of the most coveted players in the state. On Wednesday, McBryde added to his growing list of accomplishments, winning Class 4A Lineman of the Year at the ASWA State Banquet.

McBryde led the Trojans to the the Class 4A State Championship Game this past season, where Charles Henderson lost to Oneonta. The junior standout accounted for 163 tackles, including 38 for loss.

With McBryde leading the defense, Charles Henderson pitched four shutouts in 2013. The Trojans finished with a 14-1 record.

Dale County running back Jamarius Henderson was also honored in Montgomery, earning Class 3A Back of the Year. Oxford running back Racean "Roc" Thomas earned the state's Mr. Football award.
