The Abbeville Football Team got a taste of home playoff football last season, and it left a bitter taste in the team's collective mouth's. Bayside Academy came to Henry County and trounced the Yellow Jackets 42-6.

One year later, Abbeville is back, hosting a first round game in the 3A bracket. And, their opponent is even tougher this time around.

Leeds will visit Abbeville on Friday night. The Green Wave is the defending 3A State Champions, and Leeds is 8-2 this season.

So, Abbeville knows it will have to play it's best game of the year to knock off the defending champions and advance to the second round.

"They're a traditional power," Head Coach Al Shipman said. "They're always in the playoffs. They won it last year. It's a good first round opponent.

"If you want to be considered as a good team, you need to beat the big dogs."

Abbeville will host Leeds at 7:00 p.m. on Friday night.
