Cottonwood Bears Try to be "The Best"

The Cottonwood Bears are trying to figure out a way back to the playoffs. The Bears missed out on the post-season last year.

A 6-4 record is not bad, but not what the Cottonwood program usually turns out. They had a big injury at quarterback in the middle of last season that set them back.

This year, Head Coach Toby Greene says the march to the playoffs will of course, be on the ground.

"The running game will be our strength,” Greene said. “Our offensive line has got some experience. We've got three starters back up there. We've got a lot of guys who can run the ball and keep us with some fresh legs. So, that will be what we rely on this year."

The Bears will play a day before most teams. They'll travel to Slocomb on Thursday the 27th.
