We continue our previews of local teams with a look at the Daleville Warhwaks. Daleville is coming off one of the best seasons in school history.
The Hawks won the Class 3A, Region 2 title, and advanced all the way to the state quarterfinals. They lost that game in a one point heart-breaker to T.R. Miller.
But, once again in the off-season, Daleville lost their coach. Brad McCoy takes over as the fifth coach in the last five years in Daleville.
He comes in recognizing he takes over a program on the rise and is ready to provide some stability at the top.
"I think that's been the biggest thing we've talked about is consistency,” McCoy said. “And, holding each other accountable for everything we ask you to do. Whether it be being at a meeting on time or practice. Turnover is a bad thing. I was talking to them the other day. That's all they've had. Once they get used to somebody, that person leaves and they've got to learn something else. But, they've taking it in stride and done everything we've asked."
Daleville opens the season on the road at Highland Home on August 28th.
