The Ariton Purple Cats are getting set for the start of the 2010 season. The Cats are coming off a 3-7 season, their first losing season since 2002.

Rudy Free is back for his second year as head coach of the Purple Cats. Of course, the Cats move on without linebacker Craig Sanders. He'll be a starter at Auburn this season.

Ariton shares the region with perennial power Brantley. They'll also navigate their way through a schedule that includes Houston Academy and Houston County.

Ariton opens the season Friday night at Kinston. The Cats beat Kinston in a shootout last year 35-32.

We'll have the highlights for you of course on Friday Night Football at 10:30 p.m.
