When the light's on at Screamers Tattoo Parlor, needles buzz away.

But insiders say when the lights go out, the real screamers come out to play.

They're said to be the "leftovers" of the old Daleville jail.

Paranormal investigator Darrell Campbell says it was just too much for him to pass up.

So he did his homework and brought a team to the shop after dark.

But don't call Campbell a believer just yet.

Campbell, Founder of Wiregrass Ghost Hunters, said, “Anybody can tell you that a place is haunted and come to find out it just isn't.”

But as it turns out, this time the rumors might be true.

Campbell said, “I wasn't saying nothing. Then you hear me say “I’m setting this down” and then afterwards you hear a :hum: It was weird.

From 1826 to 1870, there was no ink being put to skin in the building.

Instead it was a home to prisoners; the jail of Dale County.

It switched hands sometime in the 1950’s. That's when it became the city of Daleville’s jail.

That jail closed sometime in the 1990’s and moved down the street.

The building that once housed so many stories and so many prisoners sat empty until 2008.

But one part of Campbell's crew thinks the building was never truly vacant.

That investigator didn't want to appear on camera, but is what's sometimes referred to as "a sensitive".

That's a person who can feel spirits and even communicate with them.

The investigator said the most activity they felt was in a small, closet like room. After being in that room, they believe bad things happened inside it.

That's a belief Campbell is on board with now too.

Campbell said, “Right after the investigation, the owner said there were things shifting around.”

Shifting a skeptic into a believer, in the hauntings of Screamers Tattoo Parlor.
