AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - Expectations are being kept in check as Auburn women open competition in the NCAA swimming and diving championships.
The Tigers have won five national championships, but they finished sixth last year when they sent 16 swimmers to the meet.
This year Auburn has only 10 who qualified -- eight swimmers and two divers.
But they include stars such as senior Ava Ohlgren, who will compete in six events, and sophomore Arianna Vanderpool-Wallace, a 2008 Olympian with the Bahamas.
The competition runs from Thursday through Saturday at West Lafayette, Ind.
